Keeping the Promise
Building Phase 1

The first phase of the Capital Campaign involves the renovation of McIver Hall, the most heavily used building on our campus.  McIver Hall serves our Night Shelter (every night during the winter), Community Sunday School, Community Fellowship (Sunday evening meal), an AA group, and the Druid Hill Child Development Center.

The renovations include a new office for shelter management and private counseling, new storage for each mission program, secure lockers for the shelter guests, a new serving window and counter, an enclosed kitchen for improved safety, two new showers (one is accessible), a new emergency exit, new flooring throughout the building, a new room for the shelter night manager, expanded food preparation space, private access to a bathroom for night staff and volunteers, a new roof, and new gutters.  This project will allow Druid Hills Presbyterian Church and our many partner congregations to offer a higher quality of service for guests of our many urban ministry programs.  The children of our Child Development Center will enjoy an updated facility for indoor recreation, and the CDC staff will certainly appreciate the improved kitchen and pantry areas.
